BROOKS, AB (July 30, 2020) - The Brooks Bandits of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) are pleased to announce the hiring of Bryan Wilson as the team’s new Digital Media Coordinator.
Wilson has been a fixture in the AJHL since 2012, serving as a broadcaster and content creator for the Drumheller Dragons. He also worked for the AJHL as a producer and filmmaker by creating video content for the league’s website.
In his position as Digital Media Coordinator, he will oversee the Bandits video production, including managing the video board during games, video features and content, game highlights, graphic design, and working with the coaching staff on compiling video. He will also oversee scheduling and recruiting volunteers for video production during home games.
"I am excited to take on a new challenge with the Brooks Bandits and am grateful for the opportunity to provide a positive impact to the media production operations for a storied AJHL organization, with an established high standard of excellence,” he said.
A native of Calgary, Wilson’s experience includes seven years as a Technical Video Assistant with Dome Productions where he would help with production of regional and national televised NHL games.
"More than ever, our fans are consuming our games and highlights through video platforms," said Bandits Business Manager, Nathan Crosby.
"Bryan joins our team at a time when video content is more important than ever. We're looking forward to welcoming him to our team and our community."
Wilson also has experience in writing, contributing articles to The Hockey Writers and World Atlas. Previously, he also served as Broadcast Producer for the Royal Tyrrell Museum, leading the operations of the museum’s broadcast studio, creating and producing educational programming. He also worked for 99.5 DRUM FM in Drumheller as an announcer and writer.
“Bryan joining our office staff is a great addition that our fans will recognize in short time,” said Bandits Head Coach and General Manager, Ryan Papaioannou.
“He was a standout throughout the interview process and is sure to bring more positivity to the organization. He will be tasked with upgrading our Hockey TV broadcasts and enhancing our in-arena video experience. I am looking forward to working with him during this unique time where content delivery to fans is so important."
Wilson’s first day is August 17th.
