The season’s schedule features several highlights, including games on New Year’s Day and Family Day, and annual traditions including the Teddy Bear Toss and Cash Raffle Draw.

The Bandits’ pre-season schedule begins Thursday, August 27th when the team travels to Okotoks for the Oilers’ fourth annual pre-season tournament, facing off against the Drumheller Dragons, Calgary Mustangs, and host Oilers.

The lone exhibition home game will be Tuesday, September 8th when the Bandits host the Okotoks Oilers at 7:00 PM.

The Bandits will open the regular season on the road in Canmore taking on the Eagles on Friday, September 11th, before returning to the Centennial Regional Arena for the team’s home opener the following night, hosting the same Eagles team at 7:00 PM on the 12th.

The annual AJHL Showcase, taking place this year in Camrose, Alberta, will see the Bandits take on two of Alberta’s top teams, the defending league champion Spruce Grove Saints, and the 2016 RBC Cup host Lloydminster Bobcats, on October 1st and 2nd.

The Bandits will host their annual Parents Weekend on October 30th and 31st, hosting the Camrose Kodiaks the first day, and the Calgary Canucks on Halloween Night.

The annual Teddy Bear Toss will take place on Saturday, December 5th as the Bandits host the Whitecourt Wolverines; fans will be invited to toss the Christmas toys onto the ice after the Bandits’ first goal, with the donations benefitting the Scotiabank Smiles for Christmas program.

The Bandits’ annual Cash Raffle will see two draws at games; the Early Bird Draw on December 19th, when the Bandits host the Fort McMurray Oil Barons, and the main raffle draw on March 5th during the team’s final home game against the Calgary Mustangs.

Two holiday games this year will give folks in Brooks and area a great option to spend their day off with the family. The team will play on New Year’s Day, hosting the Olds Grizzlys at 7:00 PM on January 1st, and also on Family Day, February 15th, at 4:00 PM against the Calgary Canucks.

Following in the footsteps of last year’s highly successful ALS fundraising campaign, the Bandits will benefit the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada through this year’s Jersey Auction, wearing special jerseys for home games on Friday, February 5th against the Camrose Kodiaks, and Saturday, February 6th against the Drumheller Dragons, which will then be auctioned off.

Finally, the team’s annual awards ceremony, honouring the best performers from the 2015-16 regular season campaign, will take place just before the team’s penultimate home game, Friday, March 4th against the Calgary Canucks.
