BROOKS, AB (April 14, 2021) – The Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) announced the new team cohort groups and game schedule for the next two weeks of competition under the AJHL Return to Play Plan.
The Brooks Bandits (9-1) will face the Sherwood Park Crusaders (6-5-1) four times in the next two weeks, twice in Sherwood Park and twice in Brooks.
Brooks will look to extend their 3-game winning streak when they travel to Sherwood Park on Fri, April 16th, followed by a rematch on Sat, April 17th. Both games are at 7:00 pm at Sherwood Park Arena.
The Crusaders will then travel to Brooks for two games, the first on Fri, April 23rd, followed by the finale on Sat, April 24th. Both games are at 7:00 pm at the Centennial Regional Arena.
All games can be heard on Real Country 105.7 FM and viewed on Hockeytv.com. Spectators are not currently permitted at AJHL games due to provincial restrictions.
Brooks is 7-1 since returning to play, going 6-0 vs the Calgary Canucks and 1-1 against the Okotoks Oilers.
Games will continue to be played exclusively on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays with the next round of game play slated for April 16th – April 25th, 2021. Each team is scheduled to play a minimum of two games per weekend within the upcoming 22 game schedule.
The team cohort groupings and schedule format for the final four weeks of the season (April 26th – May 23rd) will be determined based on Provincial health restrictions.

Cohort #1 – Olds Grizzlys, Calgary Canucks
Cohort #2 – Drumheller Dragons, Okotoks Oilers (April 23-25th weekend only)
Cohort #3 – Bonnyville Pontiacs, Whitecourt Wolverines
Cohort #4 – Sherwood Park Crusaders, Brooks Bandits
Cohort #5 – Grande Prairie Storm, Fort McMurray Oil Barons
Cohort #6 – Spruce Grove Saint, Drayton Valley Thunder
AJHL teams have committed to utilizing private PCR testing through DynaLIFE on a weekly basis throughout the season. If a member of the AJHL cohort – players or staff – test positive for COVID-19 at any point in the season, the team is required to isolate and suspend all in-person team activities for 14 days.
Enhanced daily screening for all AJHL players and team staff is monitored through the SureHire Risk Assessment App. Teams will be diligent in following the Government of Alberta’s COVID-19 Public Health Guidelines in order to best protect themselves and our AJHL communities.
