Bandit forward Peca steps away from hockey

BROOKS, AB (November 15, 2019) ? Brooks Bandits forward Trevor Peca (Clarence, NY) has chosen to step away from the game of hockey due to ongoing injury concerns, the team announced today.

?Trevor is doing what he feels is best for his long term health and is stepping away from the game,? said Bandits head coach and general manager Ryan Papaioannou. ?He was suffering from an injury and could never get back to being able to play comfortably.

?We commend his effort to get in the lineup for a few games and push himself, but in the end he didn?t feel that it was sustainable. We wish him the best in his academic endeavours and appreciate his time here in Brooks.?

Peca recorded an assist in four regular season games with Brooks this season, after being acquired from Buffalo of the Ontario Junior Hockey League in the summer.
