Bandits acquire Cale List

BROOKS, AB (October 4, 2017) – The Brooks Bandits of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) have acquired the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) playing rights to 1998-born defenceman Cale List (Petawawa, ON) from the Pembroke Lumber Kings of the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) in exchange for 1998-born defenceman Michael Douglas (Riverside, ON) and future considerations, it was announced today.

Joining the Bandits in a transfer with the Madison Capitols of the United States Hockey League (USHL), List, 19, is a 6’3”, 194 lb defenceman who is committed to attend and play for the UMass Lowell River Hawks of the NCAA’s Division I Hockey East conference.

Last year, List split time between the Dubuque Fighting Saints of the USHL, where he registered 6 assists in 29 games, and the Coulee Region Chill of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), where he scored a further 10 assists in 27 games.

Prior to that, he spent two years with Pembroke, dressing in 92 regular season CCHL games, and registering 24 points (3 goals, 21 assists) in 61 games in his final campaign with the Lumber Kings.

In minor hockey, he won a league championship in both the Ontario East Minor Midget Hockey League (OEMMHL) in 2013-14 and the Ontario East Bantam Hockey League (OEBHL) in 2012-13 while playing for the Ottawa Valley Titans.

List is expected to join the Bandits in time for their weekend road trip to Drayton Valley and Sherwood Park, where they will begin by taking on the Thunder on Friday night at 7:30 PM.

Tickets are on sale for the Bandits’ next home game, a Thanksgiving Day special against the Olds Grizzlys, at 4:00 PM on Monday, October 9th. Tickets are free for fans under 18 years old, and can be purchased online at tickets.brooksbandits.ca.
