BROOKS, AB (October 20, 2021) – The Brooks Bandits of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) have acquired 2002-born forward Ethan Mercer from the Vernon Vipers of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) for futures, the team announced on Wednesday.

Mercer, 19, has appeared in two games for the Vipers this season, and played in 16 games for Vernon last year in the BCHL Pod, registering two assists.

The 6’3, 200lb forward from Slake Lake, AB, put up 31 points (17G, 14A) and 32 penalty minutes in 36 games for the Northern Alberta X-Treme Prep during the 2019-20 Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) season.

They host the Drayton Valley Thunder on Friday, October 22nd, followed by another home game on Saturday, October 23rd vs the Fort McMurray Oil Barons. Game time is 7:00 pm at the Centennial Regional Arena for both games.
