Bandits acquire Owen Cole for future considerations

BROOKS, AB (October 15, 2020) ? The Brooks Bandits of the Alberta Junior Hockey League have acquired 2000-born forward Owen Cole from the Ottawa Jr. Senators of the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) in exchange for future considerations, the club announced on Thursday.

The 5?9?, 170lb forward comes to Brooks after two seasons with the Jr. Senators, scoring 92 points (32G, 60A) in 80 regular season games. A CCHL and Fred Page Cup Champion with Ottawa in 2019, Cole played in th 2019 National Junior A Championship in Brooks, qualifying for the semi-final before bowing out to the eventual champion Bandits.

His resume also includes representing Team Canada East at the 2019 World Junior A Challenge in Dawson Creek, BC, winning a silver medal.

?Owen is one of the premier CJHL players in Eastern Canada. He has a wide array of experiences, notably Captaining the Ottawa Jr. Senators along with playing for Team Canada East in the World Junior A Challenge,? said Bandits Head Coach and GM, Ryan Papaioannou.

?We have known Owen for quite some time as he visited Brooks prior to the start of his junior career. His leadership, tenacity and play making ability will settle nicely into our lineup and rounds out our forward group.?

The Dunnville, ON native is committed to UMass-Lowell for the 2021-22 season.

Prior to his junior career, Cole played for Ridley College, a prep school in St. Catharines, Ontario and is a grad of the Southern Tier Admirals minor hockey program.
