Bandits add inter-league exhibition home game vs. SJHL?s Klippers

BROOKS, AB (July 23, 2015) – The Brooks Bandits of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) are pleased to announce the scheduling of an exhibition home game against the Kindersley Klippers of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) for Wednesday, September 2nd at 7:00 PM at the Centennial Regional Arena in Brooks.

The game is the seventh pre-season matchup in 2015 for the Bandits, and is the first time Brooks and Kindersley have faced each other since September 4, 2012, when the Bandits defeated the Klippers 8-5 in Kindersley. The last time the Klippers were at the Centennial Regional Arena was September 6, 2011, when the Bandits won 7-0.

The Klippers are coming off of their winningest season since 2001-02, having recorded a 37-12-3-4 regular season record in 2014-15, placing first in the SJHL’s Kramer division.

The Bandits have won the last four consecutive pre-season games against the Klippers; 8-5 in 2012, 7-0 in 2011, 5-2 at home on September 7, 2010, and 10-2 at the Bandits’ former home, the Lakeside Leisure Centre, on September 3, 2008.

The game will be the fourth of the seven exhibition contests in 2015 for the Bandits, whose pre-season kicks off at an annual pre-season tournament in Okotoks from August 27th – 29th against the Drumheller Dragons, Calgary Mustangs, and Okotoks Oilers.

Following the home game against Kindersley, the Bandits head to Penticton, B.C. for two games against the British Columbia Hockey League’s Vees on September 4th and 5th, before returning home for their final exhibition game on Tuesday, September 8th at 7:00 PM at home, hosting Okotoks.
