BROOKS, AB (December 14, 2016) – The Brooks Bandits of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) are proud to announce that, in partnership with Chinook Financial, a total of $8,587 has been donated to Brooks Minor Hockey (BMH) as part of the team’s Brooks Minor Hockey Bandits Home Opener this season.
It is the second year of the new partnership between the Bandits and BMH, which sees the team’s home opener serve as a fundraiser for the local minor hockey organization, with a portion of ticket sales, sponsorship, and the entire team 50/50 pot share going to BMH.
In addition, the night’s sponsor Chinook Financial added its own element to the donation, increasing the total for every ticket from the home opener that was brought in to the local branch, raising the donation by a further $1,525.
The total was presented to Brooks Minor Hockey Vice President Erick Lutterotti by the Bandits’ Manager of Marketing and Community Relations Mark Printz, as well as Chinook Financial Commercial Account Manager Sheila Lalonde and Branch Manager Ron Hiebert in the first intermission of Minor Hockey Night at the Centennial Regional Arena on Friday, December 9th.
Since signing the new partnership between the Bandits and Brooks Minor Hockey, the BMH Bandits Home Opener has generated the two largest one-time donations in the history of BMH. In addition to the home opener fundraiser, the agreement also sees Bandit players act as assistant coaches for local minor hockey teams, as well as free Bandit ticket distribution for all players at local minor hockey tournaments.
The Bandits would like to thank everyone who attended and supported this season’s home opener, as well as an extra special thank you to Chinook Financial for including their support and helping to push the fundraiser to the next level. The organization eagerly awaits an even more successful kick-off to the season next September.
