BROOKS, AB (November 10, 2022) – The Brooks Bandits of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) have acquired the rights for 2003-born forward Nicholas DeGraves from the Whitecourt Wolverines in exchange for 2004-born forward Braden Keeble, the team announced on Thursday.
After affiliating with Brooks in five games during the 2019-20 season, DeGraves went on to play in 14 games during the COVID-shortened 2020-21 season, scoring 9 points (3g, 6a). He dressed in 53 regular season games with the Bandits in 2021-22, setting career highs where he tallied 47 points (14g, 33a) in 53 games. The centre appeared in 13 AJHL Playoff Games, scoring 10 points (1g, 9a) in 13 games, which include scoring the game-tying goal late in the 3rd period of Game 2 of the League Final. He helped capture the team’s 6th League Championship.
The Edmonton, AB product appeared in all six games at the 2022 Centennial Cup in Estevan, SK, scoring 9 points (2g, 7a) and helping win the National Championship.
In 11 games this year with the Waterloo Black Hawks (USHL), DeGraves has scored 5 points (1g, 4a).
Keeble appeared in 10 games during the 2022-23 season for Brooks, registering 4 points (1g, 3A in 10 games). The Bandits thank Keeble for his contributions on and off the ice in Brooks.
The Bandits next game is Friday, November 11, when they visit the Camrose Kodiaks at 3:00 pm at Encana Arena. Their next home game is Saturday, November 12, when they host the Canmore Eagles at 7:00 pm.
