Bandits forward Chris Pappas named AJHL Player of the Week

BROOKS, AB (April 7, 2021) – Brooks Bandits forward Chris Pappas has been named the Inter Pipeline AJHL Player of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday.

In three games from April 2nd – 6th, Pappas scored 3 goals and recorded 8 points.

Pappas (Toronto, ON) and the Bandits picked up three consecutive wins over the Calgary Canucks through the week.   On Friday night, he assisted on the game winning goal in a tight 2-1 match-up.   Chris Pappas earned the Viterra Star of the Game award on Saturday night when he scored his first AJHL hat trick and recorded a career high 5-point game in a 10-2 win.   The second year Bandit added two more assists to his week’s total on Tuesday during a 5-2 victory, including an assist on the game winner for the second time in three games.

Chris Pappas is second in team scoring, fourth in the AJHL Scoring Race with 15 points (6G, 9A) and leads the League with an average of 1.9 points per game.   Pappas, 20, is committed to St. Lawrence University (NCAA Division I).

Pappas is the 2nd Bandit to win a weekly AJHL honour this season. Defenceman Corson Ceulemans was the Alberta Ford Dealers Defensive Player of the Week for November 13th to 15th.
