(October 17, 2023) – Brooks Bandits forward Logan Sawyer has been named the Inter Pipeline AJHL Rookie of the Week for October 9th to 15th.
Sawyer had a six-point performance in three wins for the Brooks Bandits. The 2006-born Bandit recorded his second game winning goal of the season on October 9th in a 7-2 win over Fort McMurray and a three-point (2G, 1A) game. Logan added a goal and an assist in an 8-0 shutout of the Lloydminster Bobcats on October 13th and scored his fourth goal of the week in a 5-3 win over Okotoks. The impressive goal was selected as the Canalta Hotels AJHL Play of the Week.
With four goals and two assists, Sawyer led all AJHL rookies in scoring last week, and is currently second overall in rookie scoring with 11 points (11G, 4A) in 11 games. Sawyer (Calgary, AB) is committed to Providence College (NCAA – Division 1).
Sawyer and the Bandits face the Oil Barons in Fort McMurray tonight at 7:30 pm.
