Bandits Have Big Weekend

The Bandits had a big Thanksgiving weekend, ending with two wins.  Friday night the team was in Canmore to take on the Eagles.  Despite falling behind 2-0 in the first, the Bandits came storming back to win 3-2.

The top line of Plevy, Cockrell and newcomer Clayton had a big night with Plevy notching 2 goals and Clayton and Cockrell with 2 assists each.  Nachtigall scored the other goal, while Logan and Ursulak also picked up assists.

Shots on goal were 40-30 for the Bandits, with Michael Fredrick in net for the win.

Saturday night the Bandits were on home ice to take on South rivals, the Drumheller Dragons.  In what was their best played game of the season to date, the Bandits smoked the Dragons 7-1, the Dragons lone goal coming late in the third.

Plenty of Power Play opportunities for both teams with the Bandits scoring twice on 19 chances and the Dragons going 1 for 15.  The whole Brooks team was flying, getting 50 shots on net and only allowing 26.  Michael Fredrick was again in net for the win.

Point getters for the night were Roberts 2G-2A, Clayton 2G-1A, Logan 1G-2A, Bear and Plevy with 3A each, Cockrell and Dunn with 1G each and Baughman and Switzer with 1A each.

Austin Plevy was named Player of the Game for both Friday and Saturday night contests.

Next up the Bandits are in Calgary to take on the Mustangs on Tuesday, October 14, puck drop at 7:30pm.
