OKOTOKS, AB (October 29, 2021) – Five different Bandits scored and Ethan Barwick made 17 saves as the Brooks Bandits (14-1) skated to a 5-1 victory over the Okotoks Oilers Friday night at Pason Centennial Arena.

The Bandits have now won 13 straight games and remain undefeated on the road.

Brooks opened the scoring 12:21 into the game. Forward Aiden Fink (Wisconsin) forced an Oilers turnover at their blueline and created a two-on-one chance that saw Fink pass to linemate Anthony Cipollone who fired in the 1-0 marker. Shots were 9-6 Bandits in the 1st.
Bandits forward Brendan Poshak (Northern Michigan) finished off a net-front scramble at 5:18 to double the lead to 2-0. After the Bandits successfully killed off three straight penalties, forward TJ Hughes (Mercyhurst) scored on a left circle forehand shot that beat Okotoks starter Parker Sawka at 16:28 to increase the lead to 3-0. The Oilers got one back with 21 seconds left in the period, as forward Nolan Flint scored on a two-on-one rush to make it 3-1. Shots were 19-7 Brooks in the frame.
The Bandit lead was increased to 4-1 as defenceman Hughie Hooker fired in a right circle forehand shot at 3:29 into the 3rd period. With just under five minutes left, forward Brendan Mairs tipped in a Brendan Kennette (Sacred Heart) point shot to make it a 5-1 game, the final. Shots in the 3rd were 8-5 Brooks and 36-18 overall.
The rematch with the Oilers goes Saturday, October 30th at the Centennial Regional Arena in Brooks. Game time is 7:00 pm, with tickets available at brooksbandits.ca.
