Several special events are already planned, with special games on New Year’s Eve and Family Day, the annual Teddy Bear Toss, and the return of the team’s popular Wild Wednesday discount ticket promotion, among others.

The Bandits will host their second-ever Brooks Minor Hockey Bandits Home Opener on Friday, September 16th against the Okotoks Oilers at the Centennial Regional Arena at 7:00 PM. As part of an expansive partnership with BMH signed in the summer of 2015, the team’s home opener will serve as a major fundraiser for the local minor hockey organization.

The annual AJHL Showcase weekend in Camrose will see the Bandits take on two inter-divisonal opponents; the Fort McMurray Oil Barons on Friday, September 30th, and the Sherwood Park Crusaders on Saturday, October 1st.

The team’s annual Parents Weekend will take place on November 4th and 5th, when the Bandits host back-to-back home games against the Drayton Valley Thunder and Spruce Grove Saints.

A Christmas season mainstay of the Bandits’ schedule, the Teddy Bear Toss will be on Saturday, December 10th when Brooks hosts the Sherwood Park Crusaders, with fans invited to toss stuffed toys onto the ice after the first Bandits’ goals as donations for the Scotiabank Smiles for Christmas program.

The team’s Cash Raffle Draw will return again this year, with its early bird draw scheduled for the team’s Saturday, December 17th home game against Fort McMurray, and the grand prize draw on the final home game weekend against Camrose on March 3rd and 4th, a weekend which will also feature the team’s regular season awards ceremony.

The Bandits will also be the first AJHL team since 2006 to host a game on New Year’s Eve, with a Saturday, December 31st home game against the Olds Grizzlys at 7:00 PM. The team hopes to finalize other ancillary events around this game in the near future to help make it the New Year’s Eve destination in Brooks for 2016.

Once again, the team will host a home game on Family Day this season, which falls on Monday, February 20th. The annual day game will see the archrival Drumheller Dragons come to town for a 4:00 PM puck drop.

After great success in its debut last season, the Bandits are pleased to announce the return of its Wild Wednesday promotion, featuring discount tickets, food, and drink, with four such Wednesday home games this season: September 28th against the Calgary Canucks, October 5th against the Olds Grizzlys, November 30th against the Camrose Kodiaks, and January 11th against Olds.

The regular season schedule will feature 60 games in total; 29 home, 29 away, and two showcase games, with six games against each of the seven other South division teams, and two games against each of the 8 North division teams, with two extra matches at the Showcase.
