Bandits Press Release – Bandits sign Adam Baughman

Brooks, Alberta, May 26, 2014 – The Brooks Bandits are excited to announce the signing of 1996 Defenceman, Adam Baughman from Chicago, IL.  This past season Adam played at Salisbury Prep School in Connecticut.  Adam was a key defenceman for Salisbury during a season that saw the team lose only 1 regulation game.  His Salisbury team was crowned Prep School Champions with an big overtime victory against Gunnery Prep in late March.  Prior to playing at Salisbury, Adam was a member of the Chicago Young Americans and Chicago Misson organizations.  He was also selected 5th overall in the USHL Futures Draft by the Indiana Ice in 2012 and in the OHL by the Windsor Spitfires the same year.  In addition to the draft selections Adam represented Team USA at the 2012 Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck, Austria.  Baughman brings a wealth of size to the Bandits blue line standing 6'4″, 215lb.

Head Coach/GM Ryan Papaioannou – “Adam is a player I had the opportunity to watch live at the New England Prep Championships.  He is big and mobile defenceman that defends well.  He is another player that has recently won a significant championship and those experiences are very valuable assets.  Getting a player from a school like Salisbury means he will be well coached and a tremendous citizen.  Adam has size and we see him as a player that will play against other teams top lines.”
