BROOKS, AB (September 29, 2016) – The Brooks Bandits of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) are pleased to announce the signing of 1998-born forward Jaeger White (Medicine Hat, AB).
White, 18, comes to the Bandits after splitting last season between the Lethbridge Hurricanes, Everett Silvertips, and Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League (WHL), recording 4 points (1 goal, 3 assists) in 39 games played.
The season prior, White recorded 16 points (4 goals, 12 assists) in 40 games with Lethbridge. In his final year of minor hockey in 2013-14, White was a teammate of current Bandit captain Nick Prkusic (Medicine Hat, AB) with the Southeast Athletic Club (SEAC) Tigers, where he led the team in scoring with 29 points (12 goals, 17 assists) in 29 games.
White scored a league-leading 165 points (72 goals, 93 assists) in 58 games in his final year of bantam hockey in 2012-13 in Burnaby, B.C., and was also the 2011-12 Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League (AMBHL) Rookie of the Year, recording 51 points (28 goals, 23 assists) in 32 games with the Medicine Hat Hounds.
In total in his WHL career, White scored 20 points (5 goals, 15 assists) in 84 games. He is expected to make his Bandits debut this weekend at the annual AJHL Showcase in Camrose.
White’s first home game is scheduled for next Wednesday, October 5th at the CRA when the Bandits host the Olds Grizzlys for the team’s second straight Wild Wednesday promotion, featuring half-price tickets, half-price alcoholic beverages, a 10% store-wide discount in the Bandits’ merchandise room, and much more.
