BROOKS, AB (October 24, 2017) – The Brooks Bandits of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) have signed 1997-born forward Will Garin (Mound, Minnesota), the team announced today.
Garin, 19, began the season with the Central Illinois Flying Aces of the United States Hockey League (USHL), after splitting last season between the USHL’s Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, Sioux Falls Stampede, and Bloomington Thunder. In 58 total USHL games, he recorded 12 points (8 goals, 4 assists).
Prior to his junior career, the 5’10”, 173lb forward played five seasons for Holy Family Catholic High School in the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL), where he led the team in scoring in 2015-16 with 47 points (24 goals, 23 assists) in 23 games, adding 26 points (11 goals, 15 assists) in 21 games playing for Team Northeast in the Upper Midwest High School Elite League (UMHSEL).
Garin is expected to join the Bandits this week. Brooks is next in action Wednesday night, hosting the Lloydminster Bobcats at 7:00 PM for Wendy’s Wild Wednesday, with tickets just $5 and beer just $3. Tickets are available online at tickets.brooksbandits.ca.
