BROOKS, AB (June 14, 2017) – The Brooks Bandits, defending champions of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL), will welcome the defending champions of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL), the Penticton Vees, on Labour Day Weekend for a pair of games, the team announced today.
The series will begin Friday, September 1st as the Bandits host the Vees at 7:00 PM at the Centennial Regional Arena, and conclude the following afternoon, Saturday, September 2nd at 4:00 PM at the CRA.
It will be the second pre-season series between the two teams after Brooks visited Penticton in early September of 2015, falling 6-5 in overtime in the teams’ first matchup and tying the Vees 5-5 in the follow-up game.
The teams also met twice this past season in post-season play, with the Bandits downing the Vees 4-3 in a shootout at the Western Canada Cup in Penticton, and defeating them 2-1 in overtime at the RBC Cup in Cobourg, Ontario.
It will be the first time that the Vees will travel to Brooks since the 2012 Doyle Cup.
Tickets for both exhibition games will be $5 for adults and youth, free for children 11 and under, and free for all season ticket holders. Season tickets are currently on sale, available online at tickets.brooksbandits.ca, by phone at (403) 501-0122, or in person at the Centennial Regional Arena. Single-game tickets will go on sale later in the summer.
