BROOKS, AB (October 18, 2021) – The Brooks Bandits of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) have traded 2004-born forward Caden Steinke to the Calgary Canucks in exchange for future considerations, the team announced on Monday.
The Calgary, AB product appeared in five games for Brooks in the 2021-22 season, tallying one assist and two penalty minutes.
“This was an important move for us to make in Caden’s best interest. He needs valuable minutes after missing all of last season and we don’t have the opportunity he needs at this time. We wish him the absolute best, he is a great teammate and tremendous person,” said Bandits Head Coach and GM, Ryan Papaioannou.
The Bandits homestand continues with two of the top North Division teams coming to Brooks. The Drayton Valley Thunder (7-1-4) are in town on Friday, October 22. That’s followed by a Saturday, October 23rd matchup with the (10-2) Fort McMurray Oil Barons. Both games are at 7:00 pm, tickets are available at brooksbandits.ca.
