Barwick and the Bandits blank the Bulldogs 3-0, winning streak at 16 games

BROOKS, AB (November 26, 2022) – Ethan Barwick stopped all 26 shots he faced, as the Brooks Bandits blanked the Blackfalds Bulldogs 3-0 on Saturday at the Centennial Regional Arena, extending the winning streak to 16 games.

Barwick (St. Albert, AB) picked up his third shutout of the season, and 10th in his career as the Bandits (28-1-2) remain undefeated in regulation in 26 straight contests. Brooks goals were scored by Tyler Blocha, Brendan Poshak and Aiden Fink.

Blocha (Bonnyville, AB) opened the scoring, shooting a forehand shot from the right circle, that went left post and in to make it 1-0 Brooks just 16 seconds into the game. Poshak (Green Bay, WI) scored from the left circle on a wrist shot to make it 2-0 at 6:25. Blackfalds made a goaltending switch afterwards, as Charlie Zolin was replaced by Matt Hennessey.

Aiden Fink (Calgary, AB) increased the lead to 3-0 at 10:20, as he took a rebound off a Dominick Campione (Kohler, WI) shot off the end boards, and he turned and scored from the right circle. Barwick (St. Albert, AB) stopped all 14 shots he faced.

Neither team scored in the 3rd period, as Barwick made a key kick save late in the contest to preserve the shutout, as the Bandits skated to the 3-0 win. Final shots were 35-26 Brooks.

The Bandits homestand continues next weekend, as they welcome the Canmore Eagles on Friday, December 2 at 7:00 pm. Then on Saturday, December 3, it’s the Teddy Bear Toss Game vs the Olds Grizzlys, with all donations going to the Scotiabank Smiles for Christmas campaign.
