MISSISSAUGA, ON (January 23, 2018) – Brooks Bandits forward Simon Boyko (Mississauga, ON) tied for the game lead in points with two assists, as his Team West defeated Team East 5-2 in the 2018 CJHL Prospects Game at Port Credit Memorial Arena.
The game features top NHL Draft-eligible prospects from across the Canadian Junior Hockey League, competing for the President’s Cup.
Boyko assisted on the game’s opening goal 13:08 into the game, credited to Angus Crookshank of the Langley Rivermen of the BCHL. His second assist game on the game-winner, a power play goal for fellow AJHLer Austin Wong of the Okotoks Oilers.
A University of Vermont commit, Boyko will return to the Bandits this week where he currently sits third in team scoring, and third among AJHL rookies, with 40 points (14 goals, 26 assists) in 44 games.
The team hosts the Canmore Eagles on Friday night at the Centennial Regional Arena on First Responders Night, with tickets available online at tickets.brooksbandits.ca and puck drop scheduled for 7 PM.
