BROOKS, AB (February 26, 2020) – Following one of the most successful AJHL rookie campaigns of the last two decades, Brooks Bandits forward Brayden Krieger has won the Dick White Trophy as the Rookie of the Year in the Alberta Junior Hockey League for 2019-20, it was announced today.
Krieger is 4th in league scoring, and 1st amongst all rookies with 93 points (35 G, 58 A) in 57 games. His 93 points is 2nd all-time by a rookie in team history, with one game remaining.
The Elora, Ontario native’s strong play has earned him an NCAA Division I scholarship to Bowling Green State University, where he’ll suit up for the Falcons.
Krieger is the 4th Bandit to win the award, following Oliver Chau (2016-17), Cale Makar (2015-16) and Anthony Petruzzelli (2011-12).
