BROOKS, AB (November 22, 2019) ? The Brooks Bandits (25-1-1) are back in the win column following a 2-0 shutout victory over the Okotoks Oilers Friday night at the Centennial Regional Arena.
Goaltender Pierce Charleson (Aurora, ON) made 23 saves for his 2nd shutout of the season, as the Bandits stay perfect at home at 13-0.
Despite Brooks outshooting Okotoks 12-3 in the first period, it remained scoreless.
The game?s first goal came 12:32 into the 2nd. Forward Chris Pappas (Toronto, ON) dished a pass to defenceman Jordan Di Cicco (London, ON) who scored top shelf, his first goal of the season.
The Oilers outshot the Bandits in the 2nd, but thanks to a pad save on a breakaway from Okotoks forward Louis Jamernik, Charleson preserved the lead.
Jamernik would then be called for slashing in the third period and the Bandits will add to their lead. Forward James McIsaac (Winnipeg, MB) scored on a wrist shot from the slot at the 4:23 mark to make it 2-0 Bandits.
Charleson would deny another Oiler breakaway, this time from Brayden Morrison. Despite Okotoks pulling their goalie Ashton Abel, they were unable to solve the Bandit goalie. Final shots were 26-23 Bandits.?
The Bandits host the Calgary Canucks on Saturday (Nov 23) for a 7PM start time at the CRA. Tickets are available at tickets.brooksbandits.ca.
