Cooper Brown signs with Brooks Bandits for 2022-23 season

BROOKS, AB (March 9, 2022) – The Brooks Bandits of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) have announced forward Cooper Brown has signed with the team.

Brown, 17, currently plays for the Airdrie CFR Bisons U18 AAA in the Alberta Elite Hockey League (AEHL).

“I’m extremely pleased to join the Brooks Bandits, I’ve always wanted to play in the AJHL and in the NCAA,” said Brown.

“I feel very fortunate to join a team that has such a great history of developing players and preparing them for the next level. I’ve been lucky to play and develop under some great coaches over the years. With joining the Bandits, I’m excited to work with a great team of coaches and staff to help me develop even further.”

At 6’0, 180lb and hailing from Airdrie, AB, Brown has amassed 50 (29g, 21a) points in 38 games this season. Brown finished second in scoring in the entire AEHL, and first in goals with 29.

“Cooper has had a remarkable season leading the AEHL in goal scoring.” said Bandits Head Coach and GM, Ryan Papaioannou.

“His game is well rounded, he is mature both on and off the ice and he’s shown an energy to get better. His work ethic is high and his natural ability to score should translate well into junior hockey.”

The Bandits welcome Brown and his family to Brooks.
