DeKay, Beyer and Armstrong score as Bandits head into break with 3-1 win over Bobcats

BROOKS, AB (December 16, 2022) – The Brooks Bandits head into the Christmas break with 33 wins in 38 games thanks to a come-from-behind 3-1 victory over the Lloydminster Bobcats on Saturday at the Centennial Regional Arena.

Ethan DeKay (Mississauga, ON), Ethan Beyer (Centennial, CO) and Heath Armstrong (Calgary, AB) scored the Bandits goals, while Ethan Barwick (St. Albert, AB) made 17 saves for the win as the Bandits are 33-3-2 entering the Christmas break.

The Bobcats opened the scoring with 12 seconds left in the 1st period, as Connor Burke had a puck come to him off the end boards, which he found the back of the net on a forehand shot to make it 1-0 Lloydminster.

Brooks outshot Lloydminster 23-3 in the 2nd period, and tied the game at 16:29 on a forehand shot from DeKay from the slot. 15 seconds later, Beyer also scored from the slot to give Brooks a 2-1 lead.

The Bandits got an insurance goal from Armstrong at 17:23 of the 3rd period, snapping in a behind the net pass from Jordan Hughesman (Winnipeg, MB) to make it 3-1, the final. Shots were 46-18 Brooks.

The Bandits next game is Sunday, January 1 when they host the Camrose Kodiaks at 4:00 pm.
