BROOKS, AB (June 1, 2020) ? The Brooks Bandits of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) are thrilled to announce 1999-born defenceman Jordan Di Cicco has committed to attend and play for Long Island University beginning in the 2020-21 season, increasing the NCAA Division I commitments on the 2019-20 Bandits roster to 15.
The 5?9?, 184lb native of London, ON will join the Sharks for their inaugural season in Brookville, NY as the newest NCAA Division I program under head coach Brett Riley.
Di Cicco (London, ON) totalled 30 points (6G, 24A) in 41 games during the 2019-20 campaign. At the conclusion of the season, he was named the recipient of the 2020 Nick Crosby Memorial Award, an honour given each year to a player that shows determination, hard work, perseverance and love for the game of hockey.
The alternate captain spent two seasons in Brooks, tallying 76 points (12G, 64A) in 99 regular season games, winning an AJHL Championship and National Junior A Championship in 2018-19, his 2nd National title after previously winning with Cobourg in 2017. He appeared in 17 playoff games with Brooks, registering 6 assists.
He was also named the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week (January 6th to 12th, 2020), and once during the 2018-19 season (November 18th to 24th, 2018).
Di Cicco is the 15th Bandit from the 2019-20 roster to be committed to an NCAA Division I school:
