BROOKS, AB (January 13, 2020) – Brooks Bandits defenceman Jordan Di Cicco has been named the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week (January 6th to 12th).
The London, ON native recorded a goal and two assists in a 6-1 win over Olds on Friday and added a goal in an 8-0 victory over Calgary on Saturday.
The 5’9, 184lb blueliner was named the Viterra AJHL Star of the Game in the win over Olds with a three point performance.
Despite missing 17 games due to injury earlier this season, Di Cicco sits seventh league wide in D-Man Scoring with 24 points (4G, 20A) in 25 games.
The Brooks Bandits hold top spot in the AJHL Standings with a record of 38-3-1 and remain ranked at #1 in the CJHL Top 20 Rankings.
Di Cicco joins teammate Tim Rego (October 7th to 13th) and goaltender Pierce Charleson (December 2nd to 8th) to be named AJHL Defensive Player of the Week this season.
The Bandits head on the road this weekend. They’ll visit the Lloydminster Bobcats on Friday, January 17th for a 7:30 PM start. Then, on Saturday, January 18th, they’ll face the Crusaders in Sherwood Park at 7:00 PM.
Both games will be live on Martin Chrysler Bandits Hockey on Real Country 105.7 FM.
