Employment Opportunity: Manager of Marketing & Community Relations

The Brooks Bandits of the Alberta Junior Hockey League are seeking a mature, highly-organized, self-motivated individual for a full-time position as Manager of Marketing and Community Relations.

• Sell sponsorship, oversee sponsor servicing, and develop corporate partnerships
• Help to design and achieve sales goals and budgets
• Modify and create new sales inventory
• Work with community organizations to develop new partnerships and team events, and oversee existing community partnerships
• Coordinate and oversee player appearances in the community
• Seek advertising opportunities and manage existing advertising inventory
• Plan, administrate, and oversee team events (e.g., annual golf tournament)
• Oversee merchandise and team storefront
• Work with the Manager of Communications to design team publications (e.g., programs, schedules)
• Work with the Manager of Communications to design and execute game-night promotions and giveaways with corporate partners
• Assist in game night operations as required
• Provide administrative assistance to the General Manager

• Sales experience and excellent interpersonal abilities
• Organizational, time-management, and administrative skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
• Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment
• Graphic design knowledge an asset
• Knowledge of hockey an asset
• Educational background in sports marketing or management an asset

This position requires non-standard hours. Compensation will be based on salary and sales commission.
