MARCH 13, 2023 – Three Brooks Bandits have been named to the 2022-23 Viterra AJHL South Division All-League Team.
Forward Aiden Fink, Goaltender Ethan Barwick and defenceman Sam Court were named to the team, which was voted by General Managers and Coaches from around the AJHL.
Fink (Calgary, AB) was named the 2022-23 AJHL MVP and Top Forward. The League Scoring Champion had 97 points (41G, 56A) in 54 games and averaged 1.8 points per game.
Fink opened the season with a 14-game point streak from September 16 – October 19, 2022 totalling 30 points. The NHL Top Prospect was #66 among North American Skaters in the NHL Central Scouting Mid-Term Rankings for the upcoming 2023 NHL Entry Draft. Fink is committed to the University of Wisconsin (NCAA). He was selected to represent the AJHL as a member of Team Canada West at the 2022 World Junior A Challenge in December. His season has been filled with accolades including two Alberta Ford Dealers Player of the Month awards, two Pizza 73 AJHL Player of the Week selections, the Brook Bandits Top Forward award, and he was named the Viterra AJHL Star of the Game seven times. Fink also led the league with 21 powerplay goals.
Barwick (St. Albert, AB) set an AJHL record for most wins in a single season by a goaltender with 45, as well as a league-best 1.88 GAA, a tied for league-best .929 save mark and a league-best seven shutouts. His 14 career regular season shutouts is a Bandits record. The Bandits Team MVP and Lindenwood University NCAA D-I commit was also a finalist for the AJHL Top Goaltender award.
Court (Winnipeg, MB) led all AJHL defencemen in scoring with 72 points (13G, 59A) in 52 games, and was a finalist for the Outstanding Defenceman Award. He had the third-highest scoring single season in Bandit history by a defenceman. Overall, he finished 10th in league scoring, third in assists, and second in scoring amongst all rookie skaters. The 2004-born blueliner is 224th on the latest NHL Central Scouting Midterm Rankings. He also represented Team Canada at the 2022 World Junior A Challenge in Cornwall, ON.
The Bandits open their AJHL Playoffs on Friday, March 24th, hosting Game 1 of the South Division Semi-Final at the Centennial Regional Arena.
