Former Bandit captain Maclise signs with ECHL?s Eagles

BROOKS, AB (March 6, 2017) – Former Brooks Bandits captain Cam Maclise (Lacombe, AB) has signed with the Colorado Eagles for the remainder of the ECHL season, it was announced today.

Maclise was the CJHL Player of the Year in 2012-13, his third year as a Brooks Bandit, in which he captained the team to its first-ever RBC Cup national championship, followed by NHL development camp appearances with the Los Angeles Kings and Tampa Bay Lightning.

He most recently played two seasons for Mount Royal University of Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS), where he registered 27 points (13 goals, 14 assists) in 28 games this past season, ranking second in team scoring.

“Cam is a very talented young player who I had a chance to watch in person last month,” said Colorado general manager Chris Stewart in a release by the Eagles. “He will provide speed and skill up front, can produce points and also gives us solid depth at the center position.”

Maclise will likely make his professional debut on Wednesday, when the Eagles host the Alaska Aces.
