Former Bandit Jeff Malott invited to Flames development camp

BROOKS, AB (June 30, 2017) – Former Brooks Bandits forward Jeff Malott (Waterdown, ON) will attend the Calgary Flames’ 2017 development camp, it was announced today.

Malott, 20, has just completed his first season of NCAA competition at Cornell University, where he recorded 9 points (6 goals, 3 assists) in 30 games with the Big Red.

Prior to his collegiate year, Malott spent two seasons with the Bandits, dressing in 142 combined regular season and playoff games. In his final AJHL season in 2015-16, while serving as an alternate captain, the 6’3”, 199lb forward scored 60 points (25 goals, 35 assists) in 46 games, as the Bandits went on to win the AJHL championship and qualify for the RBC Cup.

He is the second Bandit in the last three years to attend the Flames’ annual camp after Brooks’ single-season points record holder Matt Wilkins (Kimberley, B.C.) did the same in 2015. Wilkins is entering his second full pro season with the Reading Royals of the ECHL after completing four years at Union College.

Camp begins Wednesday, July 5th at WinSport in Calgary.
