Former Bandit Jeff Malott invited to Pittsburgh Penguins development camp

BROOKS, AB (June 25, 2018) – Brooks Bandits alumnus Jeff Malott (Waterdown, ON) has been invited to attend the Pittsburgh Penguins’ Prospect Development Camp, the team announced today.

Malott, 21, just completed his second season at Cornell University, where he recorded 17 points (6 goals, 11 assists) in 28 games. It followed up a freshman campaign in which he scored 9 points (6 goals, 3 assists) in 30 games and was invited afterwards to the Calgary Flames’ development camp.

In two years in Brooks, Malott scored 80 points (31 goals, 49 assists) in 99 regular season games, adding 12 points (4 goals, 8 assists) in 13 games in the 2016 post-season as the team captured an AJHL championship while he served as an alternate captain. He was the third-highest scoring player at the 2016 Western Canada Cup with 6 points (4 goals, 2 assists) in 5 games, and added 4 points (3 goals, 1 assist) in 5 games at the 2016 RBC Cup. He was named to the AJHL’s South All-League Team in 2015-16 as well.

The Penguins’ camp runs from June 27th to the 29th, at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry, Pennsylvania.
