BROOKS, AB (October 11, 2023) – The Brooks Bandits of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) have announced 2006-born goaltender Marko Bilic has committed to the team for the 2024-25 season.
Bilic, 17, plays in the United States High School Prep League at Cushing Academy in Ashburnham, MA. Last season, he started 34 games at Ridley College in St. Catharines, ON, posting a 1.79 goals against average and 26-6-2 record.
“I chose Brooks because they’re a fantastic organization with great coaching and development. They do a really great job at preparing guys for the next level and I’m very excited to be a Bandit,” said Bilic.
“Marko is a special talent with a combination of size and athleticism. He plays the game with confidence and is a calming influence on the players in front of him,” said Bandits Head Coach and General Manager, Ryan Papaioannou.
“We’re excited to follow his progress this season at Cushing where we expect him to help lead their team. Our staff is happy for the opportunity to work with Marko on his way to the NCAA.”
The Bandits are back in action on Friday, October 13th, when they host the Lloydminster Bobcats at the Centennial Regional Arena. Game time is 7:00 pm.
