BROOKS, AB (April 23, 2020) ? The Brooks Bandits of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) are thrilled to announce through their Hass Wealth of RBC Dominion Securities Saves Promotion, a total of $2,500 has been donated to the Brooks & District Health Foundation.
This season during home games, Bandit goaltenders Pierce Charleson and Ethan Barwick made a combined total of 566 saves. Hass Wealth donated $4 for each save ($2,264) which they then topped up to $2,500.
The Health Foundation announced on Wednesday thanks to this donation, plus another donation of $2,500, they were able to purchase nine iPads that will be given to the residents of the AgeCare homes in Brooks. This includes the Newbrook Lodge, Sunrise Gardens and Orchard Manor.
The additional donation was made possible by an anonymous donor of $1,000, which ATBCares matched 50%, while the Calgary Foundation Stepping Stones Grant donated $1,000.
?The Brooks & District Health Foundation is honoured to be working with the Bandits in putting together this initiative to help our seniors in our community communicate with their family and loved ones through this time,? said the foundation?s chair, Diane Declercq.
