AIRDRIE – Maddison Smiley is enjoying some kind of season.
Not only are his Brooks Bandits 18-0 so far in this Alberta Junior Hockey League regular season and ranked the No. 1 junior ‘A’ club in Canada, but Smiley is having the kind of year most forwards only dream about.
Except he’s a defenceman.
Smiley has 11 goals and 10 assists in 17 games for the Bandits this season to sit sixth in team scoring.
