The Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Goalie of the Week is Garret Hughson of the Brooks Bandits. After another 2-0 week, Hughson has improved his record to 11-1-0 and 5 consecutive wins. Garret Hughson recorded a 1.5 GAA after allowing only 3 goals on 48 shots over two games played last week, and won the Viterra AJHL Star of the Game Award in a win over Whitecourt on February 13th.
This is the second Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Goalie of the Week recognition for Hughson (Foremost, AB). The first came on the week of January 11th – 18th, shortly after joining the Bandits. Hughson leads all AJHL goaltenders with a 2.07 GAA and .923 save percentage.
The Brooks Bandits have clinched first place in the AJHL’s South Division (43-7-2) and are assured of a first round bye in the upcoming playoffs. The Bandits are 3 points behind Spruce Grove for first overall in the AJHL with two games in hand.
