Luke Bast to play in CJHL Prospects Game

BROOKS, AB (December 18, 2018) – Brooks Bandits defenceman Luke Bast (Red Deer, AB) will compete in the annual Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) Prospects Game, the league announced today.

Bast, 18, will suit up for Team West on Tuesday, January 22nd in Okotoks.

The 5’9”, 170lb defenceman has so far scored 20 points (5 goals, 15 assists) in 22 games this season, including recording at least 1 point in 15 of his first 18 games of the season.

He recently won a bronze medal with Team Canada West at the annual World Junior A Challenge tournament in Bonnyville, where he was the team’s fifth-highest scoring player and highest-scoring defenceman, and was named to NHL Central Scouting’s watch list for the upcoming NHL Entry Draft.

Prior to this season, Bast was named to the AJHL’s All-Rookie team after the 2017-18 season.

Bast and the Bandits return to action next Friday in Canmore before hosting the Eagles on Saturday night at the CRA. Tickets are available online at tickets.brooksbandits.ca.
