BROOKS, AB (May 6, 2021) – The Brooks Bandits enter the final weekend of the 2020-21 season riding a 10-game winning streak, with the rival Spruce Grove Saints coming to town for a three-game set.
All games will be played at the Centennial Regional Arena. Spectators are not allowed due at AJHL games to government restrictions; but can be heard on Real Country 105.7 FM or watched on hockeytv.com.
The Bandits (16-1) have not lost since March 28 in Okotoks; and have not lost at home during this regular season. Brooks is coming off a weekend sweep of the Olds Grizzlys, winning 7-4 and 5-1 at home, and 6-1 in Olds.
The Bandits and Saints have not faced each other since November 9, 2019 in Spruce Grove. The Bandits and Saints have met four times in the league final, and have combined for all 10 AJHL championships awarded since 2010.
Players to watch this weekend:
TJ Hughes had a week to remember. He was named the AJHL Player of the Week (April 30 – May 2) and Player of the Month (April), and is red hot entering this weekend. The Robert Morris commit is on a four-game goal streak with seven goals in that span. Hughes is the team’s leading scorer with 28 points and has 12 points in his last four games.
Forward Sean Chisholm has eight goals over his last five games, and the Dartmouth commit leads the AJHL in goals.
Rookie forward Heath Armstrong scored two goals last weekend, his first goal of his AJHL career, while fellow rookie Nic DeGraves is on a three-game point streak.
Defenceman Zach Bookman has five assists in his last two games, and the Merrimack commit now leads the Bandits in scoring from the blueline. Tim Rego is 1st in goals by defenceman on the team with five, and the Cornell commit is riding a three-game point streak.

The Saints (8-10) are coming off six-straight games vs the Drayton Valley Thunder, which they split 3-3. Forward Graham Gamache and defenceman Logan Acheson are tied for the team scoring lead with 17 points.
