Simon Boyko added to Team Canada West camp roster for World Junior A Challenge

BROOKS, AB (November 30, 2017) – Brooks Bandits forward Simon Boyko (Mississauga, ON) has been added to the selection camp roster for Team Canada West at the annual World Junior A Challenge tournament, it was announced today.

Boyko, 18, has recorded 23 points (8 goals, 15 assists) in 28 games with the Bandits, ranking third on the team in scoring.

The camp will be held in Calgary Dec. 2-5 at the Markin MacPhail Centre at Canada Olympic Park, featuring 60 players. The tournament will be held later that month in Truro, NS.

Boyko, a University of Vermont commit, is the first Bandit invited to the selection camp this year and the 16th AJHLer on the 60-man camp roster. Previously, Bandit defenceman Cale Makar (Calgary, AB) captained the team in 2016, and won gold with Brooks teammate Shane Bear (Calgary, AB) in 2015.
