Star trade complete as Bandits send Lester to Fort McMurray

BROOKS, AB (June 3, 2015) – The Brooks Bandits of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) have traded 1997-born defenceman Oliver Lester (Calgary, AB) to the Fort McMurray Oil Barons, the team announced today.

The transaction completes the future considerations from the two teams’ January 10th, 2015 trade that sent 1995-born forward Kyle Star (Langley, BC) to the Bandits.

Lester, 18, scored 14 points (1 goal, 13 assists) in 47 regular season games, with 37 penalty minutes in his rookie AJHL season after coming to the Bandits from the Calgary Buffaloes Midget AAA squad. Lester also dressed in 3 playoff games.

Star, 20, scored 27 points (10 goals, 17 assists) in 50 regular season games this past season split between the Olds Grizzlys, Oil Barons, and Bandits. He added one assist in 11 playoff games with Brooks as well.
