Star traded to Surrey for futures

BROOKS, AB (June 9, 2015) – The Brooks Bandits of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) have traded 1995-born forward Kyle Star (Langley, BC) to the Surrey Eagles of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) in exchange for future considerations, the team announced today.

Star, 20, was originally acquired on January 10th of this year from the Fort McMurray Oil Barons in exchange for 1997-born defenceman Oliver Lester (Calgary, AB).

In 16 regular season games with the Bandits, Star scored 6 points (3 goals, 3 assists) and added 53 penalty minutes, with 1 assist in 11 playoff games. Combined with time with Fort McMurray and the Olds Grizzlys, Star scored 27 points (10 goals, 17 assists) in 50 games played, with 89 minutes in penalties in the 2014-15 regular season.
