Bandits Press Release – Stortz signs with Bandits
Brooks, Alberta, July 24, 2014 – The Brooks Bandits are pleased to announce the signing of 1996 Forward, Brayden Stortz from Welland, ON. Brayden played last season for his hometown Welland Canadians in the GOJHL where he scored 22 goals and 21 assists for 43 points in 48 regular season games. He followed that up with another 7 points in 10 playoff games. Stortz was Welland's leading goal scorer during his rookie season in the GOJHL.
Head Coach/GM Ryan Papaioannou – “Brayden had a great season on the scoresheet and is a player we spent considerable time watching. He had a visit to Brooks during our playoffs which was a great experience for him. We see him as a player that will develop into a scoring forward at our level. He is intelligent away from the puck which makes him valuable in different roles.”
Brayden Stortz – “I'm honoured to be a part of the Bandits organization. I went to Brooks to watch some playoff games last season and I can't wait to be a part of the atmosphere this up coming season.”
