The Bandits will host Games 1 and 2 on Friday, March 31st and Saturday, April 1st at the Centennial Regional Arena in Brooks. Okotoks will host Games 3 and 4 on Monday, April 3rd and Tuesday, April 4th at the Pason Centennial Arena.

If necessary, Game 5 would be in Brooks on Friday, April 7th, Game 6 in Okotoks on Sunday, April 9th, and Game 7 on Tuesday, April 11th. All games are scheduled for a 7:00 PM puck drop.

Both teams involved in the series are undefeated in the playoffs so far. The Bandits advanced to this league semi-final round by virtue of a four-game sweep of the Olds Grizzlys in the divisional semi-final after a first-round bye. The Oilers swept the Camrose Kodiaks in 3 straight games in the first round, and the Calgary Canucks in 4 games as well.

It will be the fifth time the Bandits and Oilers have met in a playoff series, with Brooks holding a 3-1 edge. In 2015, the Bandits swept the Oilers in 4 straight in a divisional semi-final series, while in 2013, the teams met in their only other South Final matchup and went to 7 games, with Brooks coming back from a 3 games to 2 series deficit to take the division in 7 en route to the team’s first RBC Cup national championship.

The teams also met in 2007, in which Okotoks won in 6 games in a divisional semi, and in the first round in 2006, in which Brooks won in 5 games.

The Bandits held an edge in the regular season series between the two teams. After falling 2-1 to the Oilers in the team’s home opener on September 16th, and 2-1 in overtime in Okotoks on September 24th, the Bandits rhymed off four straight wins over Okotoks; 4-2 on the road on October 8th, 3-0 on November 12th in Brooks, 3-2 in overtime on November 27th at home, and 6-1 in Okotoks on February 17th.
