Brooks, Alberta, May 12, 2014 – The Brooks Bandits are pleased to announce the signing of 1996 Forward, Rylan Freed from Melfort, SK.  Rylan has played the past 3 seasons for the Tisdale Trojans in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League.  This season he was an assistant captain and leading scorer for the Trojans putting up 20 goals and 33 assists for 53 points which made him one of the top scorers in the league.  Over the past three seasons Rylan has produced consistently with 38 goals and 84 assists for 122 points in 112 games.

Head Coach/GM Ryan Papaioannou – “Rylan fills a need for us in terms of proven scoring.  We are hoping he can translate his success at the Midget AAA level to the AJHL and beyond.  He is the type of player that wants to be in key situations and likes the puck on his stick.  His ability with the puck will make him top offensive forward and a catalyst in our offensive attack.  Rylan has similar attributes to many past Bandits and we are happy to have him on board with our program.”

Rylan Freed –  “Brooks was my first choice of places to play and start my junior career.  I've heard only great things about the Bandits.  I'm excited to get the season started with everyone in the organization.  It's an opportunity of a lifetime to be a part of one of the best junior organizations in Canada.”
