BROOKS, AB (September 5, 2016) – The 2015-16 Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) champion Brooks Bandits capped off their 2016 main camp this long weekend with a set of two intrasquad games between the 38 players attending this year’s camp.
Both games were open to the public, with fans asked to bring a donation to the Brooks Food Bank in lieu of an admission fee, leading to a sizeable gift from the several hundred attendees at the games.
In Game 1 on Sunday night, Team Navy took a 3-2 nailbiter behind a two-point night from Tyler Levine (Laguna Beach, CA), who registered a goal and an assist. In Game 2 on Monday afternoon, Team White stormed back for a 5-4 overtime win on a Charlie Marchand (Calgary, AB) goal less than a minute into the extra frame.
The Bandits will now prepare for their lone pre-season game coming up this Sunday, September 11th at 6:00 PM at the Centennial Regional Arena against the Okotoks Oilers. The team’s regular season home opener will be Friday, September 16th at 7:00 PM, also against the Oilers.
Tickets to this Sunday’s exhibition game are free for season ticket holders, and only $5 for the general public.
