BROOKS, AB (November 21, 2015) — The Brooks Bandits fell behind early and never recovered against their divisional rivals, the Camrose Kodiaks, on Saturday night, dropping a 5-2 decision in front of 1,438 fans at the Centennial Regional Arena, the team's second home loss of the season.
Despite outshooting Camrose 41-21, Brooks fell for the second straight game against their divisional rivals, for just their second regulation loss in the last 17 Bandits games, with both of those losses coming against the Kodiaks.
Mackenzie Bauer opened the scoring on a rebound chance just 2:11 into the game, before Tanner Younghans scored on a wrist shot from the slot just 6 seconds into the Kodiaks’ first power play to make it 2-0. Kyler Nachtigall (Calgary, AB) scored off of an odd-man rush setup by Joe O’Connor (Hamden, CT) to make it 2-1, but the Kodiaks would pull away in the second off a wraparound goal by Stefan Danielson just 2:28 in, and a Paul Lovsin goal at 15:18.
In the third, Camrose recorded another power play goal on a rebound chance for Cole McBride at 7:53, before Derek Lodermeier (Brooklyn Center, MN) pulled the Bandits to within 3 again with just over three minutes left with a wrist shot from the high slot.
The Bandits will next take on the Drumheller Dragons on the road Wednesday night, before returning home Friday night to take on the Bonnyville Pontiacs in the second of the two-
game regular season inter-divisional series. Puck drop for that game is 7 PM at the Centennial Regional Arena, with tickets available online at tickets.brooksbandits.ca.
