VIDEO: McKechney scores twice as Bandits down Mustangs 6-1 at CRA

BROOKS, AB (November 20, 2015) — The Brooks Bandits pulled away in the third period on Friday night, as both Josh McKechney (Calgary, AB) and Jesse Pereira (Fort Erie, ON) had two-goal nights in a 6-2 home win over the Calgary Mustangs.

The Bandits outshot Calgary 49-18 despite being put on the penalty kill eight times. McKechney scored twice on the power play early in the first period before Everett Putz of the Mustangs knocked a puck out of mid-air and into the Bandits net to make it 2-1.

In the second, Pereira deflected a Jarrod Gourley (Calgary, AB) point shot to reclaim the two goal lead, before Brooks exploded for three more goals in the third; shots off the rush by Austin Wright (Niagara Falls, ON) and Jared Cockrell (Byfield, MA), followed by another tip by Pereira, to notch the 6-1 final.

With the win, the Bandits have won the first four games of the six-game regular season series with the Mustangs.
