BROOKS, AB (December 4, 2018) – Brooks Bandits forward William Lemay (Marieville, QC) has been named the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) Player of the Month for November, the league announced today.

Lemay, 20, led the entire league in scoring in the month, registering 17 points (9 goals, 8 assists) in 11 games. That included his first AJHL hat trick on November 2nd against Canmore, seven multi-point games in the month, and points in all but three games.

The 6’0”, 190lb forward currently leads the Bandits in scoring with 37 points (14 goals, 23 assists) in 28 games, ranking fourth in the league in points, fifth in assists, and fourteenth in goals.

He is the second Bandit to win the award in three months this season, after Bandit captain Nathan Plessis (Salmon Arm, B.C.) won in September.

In October, he committed to attend play for the NCAA Division I University of Vermont in 2019-20. He was recruited to the team after leading the Saint-Hyacinthe Lauréats of the Quebec College Hockey League in scoring with 70 points (22 goals, 48 assists) in 35 games. He then suited up for Collège-Français de Longueuil in the Quebec Junior Hockey League (QJHL) in the playoffs, ranking second in the league in postseason scoring with 22 points (10 goals, 12 assists) in 11 games and winning a league championship, then leading all players at the Fred Page Cup regional championship tournament with 9 points (4 goals, 5 assists) in 5 games.
