William Lemay wins AJHL Player of the Week

BROOKS, AB (December 18, 2018) – Fresh off his win of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) Player of the Month Award for November, Brooks Bandits forward William Lemay (Marieville, QC) has been named the league’s Player of the Week for the first time this season.

Lemay, 19, scored 9 points (4 goals, 5 assists) in 3 games last week, including a season-high 4-point night against the Calgary Canucks on Saturday in a 10-2 win. He scored 3 points in a 5-2 Friday night win over Drumheller and two points in a 6-5 overtime win over the Calgary Mustangs on Tuesday night.

The points extended the University of Vermont commit’s point streak to a team-high and season-high 10 games. He has scored points in all but 6 games of his Bandit career, and leads the AJHL in points with 52, four more than any other player in the league. His 31 assists rank second only to teammate Ray Christy (St. Paul, MN), and his 21 goals are fourth in the league.

The Bandits are back in action next Friday in Canmore before hosting the Eagles on Saturday night at the CRA. Tickets are available online at tickets.brooksbandits.ca.
